Default Post

I have been working on a post to start it all. Something that comes out with a bang. The only problem is that I can't end it. The more I share, the more I need to. I think I have a problem with too much details. But then again, those are ever so important for the flavor.

Anyhoo, I'm gonna put that on hold for tonight and just tell you about where I am at today.

You see, we have all these amazing plans that we absolutely believe God is calling us to do with our lives. It has kinda been what we have been shooting for, but not really getting any closer to, since before we got married. In fact, at times it feels like we are getting further away.

The last couple of days I've been realizing something(partially because of a book by an old friend). God is calling us to serve Him with everything in us TODAY! Yes, we do still have plans for what we think will change the world. However, we want to start to change the world every day and every place we are. We will never be satisfied unless we live life that way. And we will never get any closer to our goals(at least for the right reasons) if we don't.

I believe God is calling us to greatness every day...even in what might seem to be the most minute detail.

Even today I am exhausted from just the mental work that goes into that mindset. And I don't even feel like I really accomplished much. But boy do I feel good. I can't wait until tomorrow. Not because I get better looking every day. But for the opportunity to serve God, but loving others out loud.

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:34-40

And we should not for one second forget that it is gonna be hard. It is gonna be real hard some times. But we can find Joy in it all.

Even though I feel like I have over used this one in my own life lately, here it is:
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. James1:2-18 I was tempted to put much more.

I'm exited to put some successes down tomorrow night.

By the way, I will still be working on that perfect first blog. This(might become these) blog(blogs) is(are) just a tide over for that.
