Exposure Letter
Dear Family and Friends,
With love as our ultimate goal, our countless prayers have brought us to a place where we can no longer feel comfortable stagnating in our current situation. We believe that in the sharing of our desires with you, our lives purpose will begin immediately. Although we know that receiving a letter like this from someone else may raise us to be skeptical, we truly feel that this is what God is asking of us. By sharing our plans and needs with you, we believe that God will start moving in amazing ways.
This desire to share and ultimately ask for help goes back a few months. Through our prayers we felt the need to ask those around us for help. We have big dreams and endeavors written on our hearts and we know that we can’t accomplish it on our own. This was all confirmed while randomly at our dear friends house in San Francisco. As we shared and conversed about all that was going on in our lives, we felt the need to pray. Not ever mentioning to our friends where our hearts were at when it came to our nudge to be humbled, our friend Tadashi began to pray for us. Immediately he said that he felt God was telling him that we needed to ask for help. He did not know what it meant but by the end of the prayer, God had revealed to him that asking for help was exactly what we needed to do. Amazed by God once again, we knew that we needed to trust in that and fully surrender.
This is not an easy letter to write even though we believe it is the right thing. So bear with us. As humbling as asking for help is, we need it. Not for us, but our hope is that it will be the catalyst that will help change the world in a positive way. We can not take steps into our ministry without the help of others. We are asking for counsel, prayer, accountability, financial support, encouragement and service. In order to receive these things, we are going to get you resting on the same cloud as us.
As some of you may already know, we are in the process of successfully building up a non-profit called Exposure World, of which we are now taking steps toward acquiring a 501c3 business license within the next couple of months. At its core, it is a ministry that involves serving others by the fuel of our personal blessings that have been given to us. We want to bless others. The heart of it is simple, the logistics are not.
We are inspired by the idea that the human heart desires to give and help others. We believe so many want to help others in need but question how to go about it. How does one decipher between which charity/organization to give of themselves? How does one know where their money is truly going? How does one go about getting involved and serving through the giving of their time? Our hearts desire is to be a tool for reaching the answers to those questions.
One of our goals is to make this very accessible and clear. We will provide worldwide exposure of the needs of existing organizations for those who desire to help. We will also help in the creation of new organizations through their specific needs. We, as servants will do this by providing non-profits, charities and organizations with the proper tools. For example, this will be done by free media packaging and digging deep with them personally to discover and organize their most fundamental goals. We will help guide their goals toward resolution by providing counsel, service, structure and exposure. Through documenting these organizations by video production and photography, we will provide promotional videos for them to put on the websites we create. This way people can see a hands on view of what is really going on. We will be providing this service of media packaging for a limited time at no cost. This will allow opportunity for goals to be accomplished and the servant’s heart to be fed.
We are also aware that some countries have the funding through their government to fix certain needs, but most do not have the knowledge and skills to acquire those funds. Money is wasted on things that are far from a necessity. We want to build up and provide these countries with the knowledge and organization skills to grant access to their countries money by providing them with the right skilled people to do so.
As you are now realizing, these are all big issues and endeavors that require a community of people to be raised up and make this a reality. Aside from all the help we mentioned before, we need people with the right skills to get on board. First we need a lawyer to help us with the logistics of starting and running our organization as well as helping with the start up of other organizations around the world. Next we need business administrators, missionaries, mentors, counselors and prayer warriors. We do not have all the answers now but through prayer and progression much will be added to this list. Please begin praying about this and see if this is something you are called to be a part of. Feel free to send this letter on to others you feel may want to get involved. There are places here for so many.
Jesus claimed that the two most important commandments from God were to love your God with all your heart and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. Through this, we believe that we are pursuing that the best we can and want to encourage others to do the same.
It seems as though many people look at Christians to judge Christianity, as opposed to going directly to the source... the living Word of God, the Bible. As believers we should be a reflection of Gods light. Although we as humans at times will miss the mark, we are hoping to be an example of a people that follow what they say they believe in. We are being led by the Holy Spirit to live a life that will encourage people to feel and know God as opposed to criticize and judge. We are vulnerable imperfect people seeking with honest hearts towards a perfect God.
In order to get these goals moving forward, we needed to make major sacrifices in our lives. As some of you know, we decided to move out of our apartment up North, sell and give away all that we own (aside from what feel are necessities) to now re-locate to Southern California. We had been living with our parents for two months with hopes of purchasing an RV to live in while we build this organization. A decision, which we believe will lead us into one of the most inexpensive living situations possible and allow us to begin our mobile ministry now. Since we have two children under the age of two, this will allow us to always have the comfort of our "home" with us.
You would think that this would be an easy acquisition because it is not a home, but rather a thirty foot RV. However, we have encountered more bumps in this road than anticipated due to the fact that an RV is considered a luxury item. In this day in age, in order to get a loan for something like an RV, without ever being a homeowner, is next to impossible.
We have also been told that we cannot get a co-signer. Someone else would have to buy the RV and then give it to us, so we can then make payments to them. Although we found someone willing to do this for us, through prayer, we feel that this is not the answer. Again, we are humbled and the words “Ask for help” ring in our ears and hearts. We are asking God to provide us with the money needed to purchase what we believe will be our home/office to begin our ministry now. If our living expenses are completely paid in full, all the money we earn will go directly to our ministry. We have no idea how this is going to happen without the help of others and by Gods grace but we do know that God will provide. Until then, we will be staying at a friend’s house in San Diego, working hard and saving our money!
One of our major means that we hope will continually fund Exposure World is through the creation of a t-shirt company. We believe that that you can begin to spread love around the world with the t-shirt on your back. How many have noticed the lack of positive messages when it comes to clothing? We will be combining our photography, paintings and graphic designs to create metaphors and descriptions of a positive way of living. We believe that this company will help make Exposure World possible so that any monetary contribution provided will be a single offering.
We have included a stamped envelope with our return address on it. Please feel free to send us anything you feel called to. Whether it be references, words of encouragement (Lord knows we need them), financial support, commitment to specific prayer, information you feel will be helpful, inspiration, expressed interest in becoming a team member or any other way you feel called to get on board. We absolutely need this!
Our current specific prayer needs are finding a lawyer, submitting our 501c3, purchasing an RV (paid in full) and building a solid team of people to help run this organization.
We certainly believe that nothing just happens and we have full confidence that we are in each others lives for a reason.
